Hummus

What you need

  • Chick peas 1 x 420g can, drained.
  • Lemon Juice ¼ cup
  • Tahini* 2 tablespoons (optional).
  • Crushed garlic 2 teaspoons.
  • Salt and ground pepper to taste.

* Tahini is sesame seed paste. It is found in the refrigerator section of supermarket.

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Method

  • Place all ingredients together in food processor or blender; blend to a creamy paste.
  • Add more water or lemon juice if necessary and season to taste.
  • Serve with pita bread and vegetable sticks.

Tip: If you like extra crunch and flavour, add some finely chopped celery and/or spring onion.

Makes around 1 ½ cups
