Hamburgers
What you need
- Lean minced beef 500g.
- Soft breadcrumbs (wholemeal if possible) 1 ½ cups.
- Rolled oats ½ cup.
- Cold water 2 tablespoons.
- Crushed garlic 1 teaspoon.
- Chopped parsley (optional) ¼ cup.
- Dried basil 1 teaspoon (or 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil).
- Grated carrot ½ cup.
- Onion 1, finely chopped.
- Egg 1
- Garlic salt 1 teaspoon.
- Curry powder 1 teaspoon.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Method
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Using clean wet hands, shape into hamburger patties (Makes 8 large).
- Cook on both sides on barbeque or in non-stick fry pan.
- Serve in toasted hamburger buns with lettuce, grated carrot, finely sliced red onion, pineapple ring and sliced tomato.
Makes 8 large patties.
