Baked Apples or Pears with Fruit Mince
What you need
- Apples or pears 2 ripe.
- Fruit mince (as for Christmas mince pies) ½ cup.
- Oranges 2, juiced.
- Honey 1 tablespoon
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 45 - 60 minutes
Method
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
- Cut fruit in half lengthwise and cut out the cores. Place in a shallow ovenproof dish.
- Divide fruit mince evenly between the halves.
- Combine orange juice and honey in a jug.
- Pour some over the apples and the rest into the dish.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for around 45 minutes or until the pears are soft and sticky (the riper the pears, the less time this will take).
- Serve with the syrup and yoghurt.
