Bircher Muesli
What you need
- Wholegrain oats 1 ½ cups.
- Milk or water 1 ½ cups.
- Lemon juice 2 tablespoons.
- Apples 2, grated with skin left on.
- Sultanas ½ cup.
- Pear 1, chopped (leave skin on).
- Low fat unsweetened yoghurt 1 - 1 1/2 cups.
Preparation time: 10 - 15 minutes
Soaking time: overnight
Method
- Combine oats and liquid in a covered bowl or containerl; refrigerate overnight.
- In the morning, stir in lemon juice, apples, pear, sultanas and yoghurt.
- Serve.
NB. More or less yoghurt may be added, depending on the consistency you desire. Use a little honey or maple syrup to sweeten if necessary
