Meatloaf

What you need

  • Lean minced beef 500g.
  • Soft breadcrumbs (wholemeal if possible) 1 ½ cups.
  • Rolled oats ½ cup.
  • Cold water 2 tablespoons.
  • Crushed garlic 1 teaspoon.
  • Chopped parsley (optional) ¼ cup.
  • Dried basil 1 teaspoon (or 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil).
  • Grated carrot ½ cup.
  • Onion 1, finely chopped.
  • Egg 1
  • Garlic salt 1 teaspoon.
  • Curry powder 1 teaspoon.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 40 - 45 minutes

Method

  • Preheat oven to 180°C .
  • Mix all ingredients together in a bowl; press into a loaf tin and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Cover loosely with foil and cook for a further 20 minutes or until juices run clear when pierced with a knife.
